Course Description
This course is an excellent introduction to parliamentary procedure and its use in meetings. It is based on Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised In Brief (3rd Ed.). Upon completion of this course, participants will not only be more effective in their next meeting, but will also be prepared to take NAP’s membership exam and to expand their parliamentary knowledge and skills.
    Learning Objectives
Participants who complete this course will be able to
  • Explain the use of parliamentary procedure in ensuring fair and democratic decision-making.
  • Identify an organization's governing documents.
  • Determine the hierarchy of those governing documents.
  • Understand the role of motions in conducting orderly meetings.
  • Define a majority vote vs. a plural or two-thirds vote.
